Memories of...

Fontaine Ferry

05/14/09: Frazier International History Museum will be hosting a Fontaine Ferry Park exhibit opening this weekend, May 16, 2009! They need your memories to help make the event a success. Please visit http://www.fromyourmemory.comto help.

06/06/06: Today marks a sad day in Fontaine Ferry Park history.  Four days ago I learned that the ferris wheel from Fontaine Ferry had been up and running at Bell's Amusement Park in Tulsa, Oklahoma since around 1976.  Today, tornados ripped though Tulsa and destroyed the ferris wheel.  As one local news station reported, the ferris wheel was "crumpled".

I have added a link with the only photos I have.  This year would have been its 80th birthday.  I'd like to give special thanks to Kyle in Tulsa for all of the information and photos.  I should have known something bad would happen on 06/06/06.

09/04/05: I have added new fan photos, finally.  Sorry it has taken me so long to get these on the page.

08/25/05: I have finished scanning in photos at UofL.  It will still be awhile before they are available due to some circumstances out of my control.

05/12/05: I've found information on a carousel in Syracuse, NY.  Their site claims the 1909 PTC #18 was originally in a park in Louisville, KY.  I've emailed several people for help with this.  If anyone has information on this, please let me know.  I suspect it may have been from White City.

Don't forget to share your memories!!
